"Well I got some bad news for some of you" (Sigh)

YES! The day finally arrived, I'm shipping to my unit. We get in 0530 formation as our platoon sergeant comes up, he's in a good mood everything is great. Then he says "Oh I almost forgot, I got some bad news for some of you.". Pretty much instantly I knew this bad news would apply to me in some way shape or form. He calls off a list of names which, of course, mine is on. "Yea if your going to fourth, they have the day off, so a sponsor can't come and pick you so your going to be staying with me this weekend." It only makes sense.. So not only have all my friends left to their unit, I'm now rooming with a fat good for nothing NCO who's trying to switch his orders so he doesn't have to deploy.

Later that day my buddy calls me up to tell me how his room and everything is. So in short he's telling me how great it is, every one is being so nice and already inviting him to dinner and stuff. I'm like, well that's good I'm really happy for my battle. As I later adventure to the PX ONCE AGAIN, I run into my other friend who went to the same unit as I'm going to. "Hey man how did everything go?". "Well, they smoked the crap out of me, I can barely walk, and they said they're going to make it hell for me until I deploy." *SIGH* it only makes sense..

First Impressions

So I've recently arrived at my new destination aka Ft. Campbell. I'm in replacement company because I just got here and I gotta wait to be shipped to my unit. So when I first arrive I'm like okay people are being processed out pretty fast ill be out of here in like 4 days so you would think. Well the day comes to be called into an actual platoon which means I'm about to ship to my unit. The roster numbers began to be called and sure enough my number is K566 and it ends at k564. Why? Because it only makes sense. My buddy who is also a medic who reported the exact same day as me got his number called(Thursday). The next day he was shipped to his unit (Friday). Friday I finally get put into a platoon which I'm then informed we won't be shipping until friday THE NEXT WEEK.( It only makes sense). We are then introduced to our high speed platoon seargant. He gives a speech about how were going to be the loudest and best platoon...in replacement....and that we will have the cleanest barracks, be the most disciplined, and best at PT....in replacement...I can't help but think to myself..."Self, IS THIS GUY FREAKING FOR REAL". Come to find out after he gives an autobiography explaining to us how hard he is, how he doesn't put with with anything, and he's not the one, he informs us that he's been in the army 12 years....I take note of his e-6 rank.......(sigh)..After being on the verge of giving all hope to leadership positions in the military he tells us that monday he will be assigning squad leaders....in replacement...it only makes sense...
